Terms of Use
Effective date: October 22, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the FinMAI website and related online content (the "Site"), operated by Finmai LLC ("Finmai," "we," "us" or "our"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who may use the Site
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Site. If you use the Site for an organization, you confirm that you may accept these Terms for it.
2. What FinMAI is, and what it is not
FinMAI is a financial modeling platform. The Site, the FinMAI platform, its models, templates, guides, blog posts and other content are provided for information and education only. They are not financial, investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and they do not create an advisory, fiduciary or professional relationship between you and FinMAI.
Models depend on the numbers and assumptions you enter. Results are estimates, not predictions or guarantees. You are responsible for your own decisions and should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.
3. Using the Site
You agree to use the Site lawfully and not to:
break the law or the rights of others
attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers or other users' data
introduce malware or interfere with the Site's operation
copy, scrape or harvest content or data by automated means without our written permission
misrepresent your identity or your connection to FinMAI
4. FinMAI software
Downloading or using the FinMAI platform on your device is governed by the license terms presented with the software or on the app store page. If those terms conflict with these Terms about the software, the license terms control.
5. Consultancy services
Information on the Site about custom financial models, ongoing analysis and training is not an offer. Consultancy work is provided only under a written quote or agreement between you and FinMAI, which sets out the scope, fees and timing. Sending a request through the Site does not create a contract.
6. Blog, comments and submissions
The Site may let you post comments or send us questions and other material ("Submissions").
You keep ownership of your Submissions. By submitting, you give FinMAI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, edit, publish and display them on the Site and in related communications, for as long as we operate the Site.
When you tick the permission box on a question form, you allow us to publish your question. We will not publish your email address or last name.
You are responsible for what you submit. Do not post anything unlawful, defamatory, harassing, misleading or infringing, or any personal or confidential financial information (such as account numbers).
We may review, edit, decline or remove any Submission or comment at our discretion. Comments may be held for approval.
Comments and Submissions express the views of their authors, not of FinMAI. They are not financial advice.
7. Third-party links, sources and data
The Site links to third-party websites and sources, including public economic data and news. We do not control them, and we do not guarantee their accuracy, availability or content. A link is not an endorsement. Third-party sites have their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including the FinMAI name, logo, text, graphics, templates and software, belong to FinMAI or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may view the Site and share links to it for personal or internal business use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or create derivative works from our content without written permission, except for brief quotations with credit and a link back.
If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email [Contact email] with a description of the work, where it appears on the Site, and your contact details.
9. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, or that models, templates or content will meet your needs or produce any particular result.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, FinMAI and its owners, officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its content, even if we were told such damage was possible. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Site will not exceed [one hundred U.S. dollars ($100)]. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold harmless FinMAI from claims, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Submissions, your misuse of the Site, or your breach of these Terms.
12. Privacy and cookies
How we collect and use personal information, and how we use cookies, is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. By using the Site, you acknowledge them.
13. Changes to the Site and these Terms
We may change or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may update these Terms by posting the new version with a new effective date. Using the Site after a change means you accept it.
14. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to the Site, or remove your Submissions, at any time and without notice if we believe you have broken these Terms or the law. Sections that by their nature should continue (including 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 15) will remain in effect.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [State], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and Finmai agree that any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in [County, State], and you consent to their jurisdiction. [A lawyer may recommend a different approach here, such as arbitration.]
16. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and FinMAI about the Site. If a part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a part is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, sale or reorganization.
