If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, our legal bases are: your consent (analytics cookies, marketing email, publishing your question), our legitimate interests (running and securing the Site, answering inquiries), and steps you ask us to take before entering a contract (consultancy requests).
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with:
Service providers that help us run the Site and our business: Squarespace (hosting, forms, comments, analytics), [Google Analytics, if used], [email provider], and similar tools. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
Professional advisers such as lawyers, accountants and insurers, where needed.
Authorities or other parties when the law requires it, or to protect rights, safety and security.
A buyer or successor if FinMAI is involved in a merger, sale or reorganization.
The public, but only comments and questions you allowed us to publish, and without your email address or last name.
4. Links to other sites
The Site links to third-party websites, including economic data and news sources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Read their policies before you share information with them.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in the same way. We use "cookies" to mean all of them.
The types we use:
We do not use cookies to show you advertising or to sell your information.
The exact cookie names and lifespans come from Squarespace and our other providers and may change.
Your choices
Cookie banner: when you first visit, you can accept or decline non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookies for this Site in your browser, or using the cookie settings link in the footer [add if available].
Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. If you block all cookies, parts of the Site may not work.
6. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above. As a guide: inquiries and consultancy requests for 2 years after our last contact, published comments and questions until you ask us to remove them, and analytics data for the period set in our analytics tools. We may keep some information longer where the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export the personal information we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to withdraw consent you gave earlier. To make a request, email kaiwu@finmai.ai. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
EEA and UK visitors: you may have additional rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority. Where we rely on legitimate interests or consent to use your information, you can object or withdraw consent at any time.
California and other US state residents: depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what we collect, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
You can also unsubscribe from any email we send by using the link in the email.
8. Do Not Track and global privacy signals
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. There is no common standard for Do Not Track, so the Site does not respond to it.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, email kaiwu@finmai.ai and we will delete it.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures, including the security features of our hosting provider, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International transfers
Finmai LLC is based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for transfers of information from the EEA or UK.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy and Cookie Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in a clear way, for example with a notice on the Site.
